Rafting

You can come with your car to the picnic area “Luka” (FINISH – GPS coordinates N 43°26’222” E 016°45’419”), some seven kilometers from Omiš, where the organizer waits for you. There you can leave your vehicles.
From here you are transported by a van or a minibus to the starting point where skippers, equipment, and boats already wait for you. Skippers give you some basic instructions about the trip and help you choose the suitable equipment.

Now, the rafting adventure can start and you can enjoy three hours of rafting on the nine kilometers long route of one of the most beautiful Croatian rivers where you can see rapids, waterfalls, caves and quiet parts of the river rich in flora and fauna. After an unforgettable adventure, you can change your clothes at the finish point. If you want, it is possible to organize a meal in one of the local restaurants.
If you want to experience the rafting adventure on the Cetina River you do not need to be physically prepared or experienced. Children aged 7 – 12 can also experience this adventure but accompanied by their parents.

We recommend you to take with you a swimming suit, a short sleeves T-shirt, a pair of short pants and a pair of sneakers or sandals.
Rafting trips are organized every day during the season (1 April – 31 October). The departure is every day at 8:30 am and 2:00 pm in front of the travel agency Luka, but the times are subject to change.

The price includes: the rent of boats, all equipment (helmets, paddles, life jackets, wetsuits and shoes, if necessary), skippers, the insurance, free parking, the transport from the travel agency Luka to the starting point.

More about Cetina river

The river that the Rafting tour, among many other tours takes place is Cetina. A river that has it’s source located in the northwestern slopes of Dinara. The river rises from a spring near a smaller village that shares the name of the river, Cetina, just 7 kilometres north of Vrlika. Cetina flows a total of around 100 kilometres towards the Adriatic Sea, meeting the sea at town Omiš. There’s also a large artificial lake called “Peruća”, which begins near Vrlika. Peruća being created around 25 kilometres downstream.

Cetina also receives a lot of water throughout the year that originates from the neighbouring country Bosnia & Herzegovina’s Bosnian kartst field via underground routes/tunnels. The river starts at Gubavica Falls, just 50 meters above sea level for it’s lower course journey; near the village of Zadvarje near the town of Omiš. In this part the river leaves the canyon and flows into a canyon-like valley towards the estuary in Omiš town. The city popular due to it’s various excursion opportunities as well as providing an opportune location to visit the various excursions on a simple day tour.

Cetina also powers a couple of hydroelectric power plants due to a relatively large drop in elevation at latter portions of the river. The valley has been a principal trade route between the Croatian coast and hinterland at the narrow passage at Klis. The place being important for development and strategically for the entirety of Europe and not just the Balkans. Cetina is also the most water-rich river in Croatia, so you can enjoy a refreshing dip and even drink fresh water from the waterfall you’ll be passing by on your rafting excursion from Split city.
