Airport Split was opened in the year 1966 on November 25th. The airport growing quite a bit each passing year, only stopping during the economic crisis in 1988. and 1991 because of war that lasted until 1992. Split airport is one of nine inter-national airports in all of Croatia. Located on the edge of Resnik, west of Kaštel Štafilića at around 6 kilometres from Trogir and 25 kilometres from Split.
