Christmas markets across Croatia
The biggest cities in Croatia are also the most popular for big Christmas fair gatherings. Zagreb, the main city of Croatia being a popular destination among Croatians and neighbouring countries for it’s celebration and decor. Several dozen stands exclusively selling popular desserts like “Fritule”, “Uštipci” and various other meals and beverages. It’s no mistake that Zagreb deserves to be one of the main choices to spend your Christmas in Croatia, but that doesn’t mean it’s made for you.
Split is the second largest city, featuring a long line of small “houses” filled with various vendors and treats to taste and admire. Several places around the old town singing and enjoying the company of others as they give in on the festive season. So why not make the most out of it by celebrating the Winter Holidays in order to have some excitement and even relaxation with a hot beverage on a cold winter night.
You can expect to see a couple of skating rings in several Croatia’s towns which offer a great and fun experience for you and your clumsy family/friends :). A popular thought when you think of the Christmas fair is snow, but not every town is lucky to have a white Christmas. Snow being almost a luxury for the coastal towns like Split and Dubrovnik, but while those cities aren’t expected to have snow, Zagreb and the mountainous area is covered in Snow constantly during the Winter period which offers beautiful opportunities for a photograph or two.
